More Delay In Tevez Case

Sheffield Utd have been told they will have to wait until Christmas before discovering whether their attempts to prevent the Hammers taking their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport are successful.

The Judge at the High Court this morning told those present that he would take time to consider the evidence before reaching a judgement "at some point before Christmas".

west ham1 everton 3 highlights

in game which united where with out adoubt the better side but failing to take those
chances cost us dear for the second week in a row the Hammers' shaky defence - 25 games now without a clean sheet - fell apart in an incredible final few minutes to gift all three points to Everton who really should have been well and truly beaten
by half time.
Freddie Sears had our two best chances in the first half and should have put us 1 up after being teed up by Craig Bellamy following an excellent run on the left flank
hiting the target but tim howard pushed on to the bar.

in the second half much the same everton sitting back and countless attacks by the hammers came to nothing untill Matthew Etherington came on for the disappointing Luis Boa Morte.

That decision proved to be a good one as United took the lead just five minutes after Etherington's introduction. Another flowing move on the left flank saw Scott Parker fed inside the box. Without a thought Parker produced a clever backheel into the path of midfield partner Collison who bent the ball in to the top corner of the net.
but just as last week we let slip and totally collapsed it was 1-1 when Jolean Lescott rose to equalise with a free header from a Saha cross with just seven minutes left on the clock it was soon 1-2 when saha found the net and it was soon
1-3 when Faubert laclusterd pass was cut out allowing Saha to fire home from the edge of the box with West Ham defenders backing away this defeat is our 5th in the last six games relligation anyone.

To The High Court We Go!

West Ham are to take their case to the High Court next week in the latest attempt to overturn the decision to allow Sheffield United to sue for damages in the wake of their relegation.

our latest visit to the courts comes as an attempt to prevent the Blades from taking out an injunction which in turn would prevent West Ham from taking their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Sheffield United say that as the fa do not recognise CAS and there powers to arbitrate in such matters.

but hope for westham is that fifa and uefa rulings bodies DO recognise the CAS, a point that the Hammers will make in their submission.

the moron (Kevin McCabe) said: this week

"we are determined not to be pushed aside over this sporting injustice. They [Premier League] are under-managed. They hide behind setting up an independent panel to penalise a club that's breached the rules and believe that alleviates their job to govern the game.

"We really need to get a restructure of the governance of the FA Premier League to stop what happened to us ever happening again."

i ask when will fifa step in and sort this mess out as it is quite clear one man cant save a team.

Zola Has Striker Worries

Gianfranco Zola has something of a striker dilemma ahead of Saturday's clash. With Dean Ashton (ankle) and Carlton Cole (suspended) definitel ruled out.
whilst new striker diego tristan is a doubt for this weekend's clash with Everton after suffering a knock during a Reserve team match against spurs this week and this leaves him Craig Bellamy, rookie Freddie Sears and veteran David Di Michele to choose from.

Behrami injury lay-off

Valon Behrami could be out for up to a month after injuring his calf during last night's 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Behrami damaged his calf when breaking down the flank in the closing moments of the first half.
The loss of Behrami is just the latest piece of bas news for Gianfranco Zola, whose injury list is beginning to resemble that which Alan Curbishley suffered from last season

manchester united 2 west ham 0

West Ham United succumbed to a fourth successive Premier League defeat at Old Trafford, going down 2-0 to reigning champions Manchester United.

Ronaldo gave the home side a 12th minute lead with a close range effort the Hammers were always up against it.

When a second was added on the stroke of the half hour mark - Ronaldo converting a Berbatov centre from close range - we looked as if we might collapse to a heavy defeat this wasnt helped by Valon Behrami, who was carried off in the final minute of the first half.

however united took there foot off the gas and the second was an fairly uneventful affair.Craig Bellamy's dipping free kick on the hour mark was as close as the Irons
came to getting back into the game and showed we missed the suspended Carlton Cole.

At the other end Rob Green continued his good form by making a couple of crucial saves stoping the score rising and maintaing some dignity for the players.

curbs taking us to court

Alan Curbishley is set to sue West Ham United for constructive dismissal.

The former Hammers boss walked out of the club at the beginning of last month in disgust at the board's policy of selling players without his prior knowledge.

With a clause in his contract confirming that Curbishley retained full control over the movement of players, the 50-year-old is now in a position to sue the club for the remainder of his contract, which had just under two years to run.

The figure in question is thought to be around £1million. An unnamed spokesman for West Ham United told the BBC:

"We are aware of Alan Curbishley's position and it is now a matter for the lawyers for the two parties."

mean while acording to the mail newspaper
Lawyers representing 15 former and current Sheffield United players have been instructed to sue West Ham United for loss of earnings.
the mail claim that the group, assisted by Chris Farnell of IPS Law, have instructed a 'leading sports lawyer' to represent them in a compensation case said to be worth around £5million.

United Dont Scare Us

zola takes us to manchester tomorrow and says while we will give the current champions respect we still have nothing to fear.

he told whufc.com "We do respect them but we don't fear them. We are going to go there and play our game. We are going to try to win the game as we always do that,"

I'll be certainly telling them that it is a tough match but in football everything is possible. We are a good team and I believe that we can do that. We respect them but we will play our game and we will see."

despite our recent 3 defeats in a row zola still belives playing good football will get good results, with the itlian stating just one result will revert the trend and get things back on track.
He said: "It never happened to me that I saw a team playing that well and then not getting any points for three matches.

"I know that in football things can change quickly. We just need a game to get it right and then everything will be better. It's a good starting point to play well, results are a consequence of that. That's my philosophy and I will pursue it.

"The way we are playing suits the team very well and just have to accept that sometimes there are bad moments and things don't go your way."

West Ham 0 Arsenal 2 Highlights

An own goal by Julien Faubert and an injury time strike from Emmanuel Adebayor condemned West Ham United to a third successive Premier League defeat,
our best chance of the opening half fell to Bellamy when he was sent through on goal by a wonderful pass from the excellent Scott Parker. However the outstretched boot of Arsenal 'keeper Almunia did just enough to send the striker's effort looping over the bar.At the other end Theo Walcott went closest for the visitors when his 20th minute effort clipped the bar after a good break on the right-hand side, whilst both Van Persie and Bentner missed chances,

in the second half Robin Van Persie hit the woodwork with a stunning free-kick,
whilst the introduction of Adebayor was the turning point for arsenal as within 5 minutes of coming on found himself in the penalty area and twisted and turned before firing a cross-come-shot low across the United six yard box. Under pressure, Faubert slid in to divert the ball into his own net.

zola then brought Luis Boa Morte, Matthew Etherington and Freddie Sears into the game
but it was tolittle to late for us as on the attack for an equaliser in the final minutes, a swift counter attack buy arsenal witch was converted by Adebayor to put the result beyond doubt by rounding Rob Green and firing into an empty net.

here are the highlights of the game witch was shown live here.

Not Another Injury

Mark Noble is likely to be out for around four weeks after picking up an injury during training earlier in the week and will be out the games against Arsenal, Manchester United, Middlesbrough and Everton.
The news was revealed by Gianfranco Zola during a pre-match press conference.

"Mark is going to be out for a few weeks with a torn calf," confirmed the new Hammers boss. "That is the bad news; it happened in training."

this news leaves the door open for Hayden Mullins to return to the fold having recently expressed his concern over a lack of first team opportunities in recent weeks.

K Reid Wants First Team Action

Kyel Reid has said that he is willing to drop to a lower division on a temporary basis - if it enhances his chances of making the grade at West Ham United.

like Hayden Mullins earlier this week - admitted that he may have to seek a move elsewhere should he continue to remain on the fringes of the first team squad.

Talking to the Waltham Forest Gurdian, he said:

He (Zola) said that I will get my chance but that I've just got to be patient. I've been on the bench a few times but I've been out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. I'm back now so hopefully I can get back in the squad regularly.

"I just want to get out there and show the gaffer what I can do," he added. "I can get a chance to do that in his team, or hopefully go out on loan and get a few games under my belt for a month or so.

"I went on loan before, so hopefully I can do something similar again at another Championship club."

IS a Takeover Coming?

The Dubai-based sovereign-wealth fund had been in negotiations with the Addicks board with view to a possible takeover. However they confirmed this morning that they no longer intend to pursue their interest.
A statement posted on Charlton's website stated:

"The board was informed by Zabeel Investments on Thursday that it will not be proceeding with the proposed acquisition of Charlton Athletic plc.

"Zabeel Investments has informed Charlton that the decision not to proceed was taken on the basis that its focus moving forward will be on domestic opportunities in Dubai that complement the current Zabeel Investments portfolio.

"In addition, Zabeel Investments has confirmed it has no current intention to acquire any English football club for the foreseeable future."

Whilst a spokesman for Zabeel added:

"Zabeel Investments has the highest regard for both the supporters of Charlton and the way in which Charlton is managed, and wishes the team every success in its quest for promotion this season and moving forward."

Zabeel Investments have been linked with westham before plus a number of other english clubs.but with the clubs chairman Gudmundsson repoted to be under pressure sell the club with his business empire collapsing earlier this month with the fall of Icelandic bank Landsbanki.
A number of sources have claimed the whole charlton takeover was on smokescreen for a bigger takeover bid.

West ham manger zola today has slamed claims he will bee forced some of his stars in the january transfer window.
despit The club's vice-chairman Asgeir Fridgeirsson saying on Tuesday that no more funding will be made available to Zola for the foreseeable future.

Asked if he will have to sell before he can buy in the January transfer window, the Italian replied: "Right now I don't need to buy really.

"I am happy with what I have got - there might be the possibility that someone might go on loan because we have got a big squad and obviously I don't want to keep players here training and not playing.

"But right now, really, I don't need to buy any players - I have got everything I need right now."

he also slamed reports he must sell big money players like dean ashton.

"No, not really - the club have not told me anything about that - actually they want to progress, they want to strengthen the team so not really, we are not going to be selling any good players that we have," he said, adding they are going to keep them and try to improve the team.

CAS delay in Tevez case

a statement released on the CAS website confirmed that the arbitration procedure (or preliminary hearing) had begun, but a decision on whether to hear the case in full had been deferred.

"The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirms that a statement of appeal has been filed by West Ham United football club against Sheffield United football club with respect to the interim award of 18 September 2008 that was rendered by an arbitration panel of the English Football Association (FA)," the statement read.

West Ham United requests the annulment of the FA arbitration panel’s award. The dispute is related to the validity of the registration of the Argentinean football player, Carlos Tevez with West Ham United at the beginning of the football season 2006/2007.

"The CAS has initiated an arbitration procedure and will first examine its jurisdiction as a preliminary issue after both clubs have had the opportunity to file written submissions on this point.

"For the moment, no decision has been made with respect to the holding of a hearing. In any event, a decision on jurisdiction is not to be expected before the end of November 2008."

Tristan's A Hammer

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of 32-year-old journeyman Diego Tristan.

The veteran striker - out of football since the summer having been released by relegated Livorono - had spent the last two weeks on trial at Chadwell Heath in order to allow Steve Clarke and Gianfranco Zola to run the rule over the former Spanish international.

he told whufc.com
"I am really happy to be at West Ham. They are a big club and London is a great city.

"I have been really impressed from the moment I arrived at the training ground. The coaching staff and the players have all helped me to settle in. I had a lot of offers to go to other countries and play for a lot of money but I feel that I still have lots to offer and I want to show West Ham fans that I can still play at the highest level.

"That is why I am here. I want to show the fans that I can score goals and help the team to go up the league. I am excited to be here."

To Sell Or Not TO Sell

Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is under pressure to sell the club he purchased just two years ago.
According to reports Gudmundsson has been told by the icelandic government that he must sell his non-domestic interests in order to reduce the losses incurred by the collapse of Landsbanki bank this week which according to reports could this could just about touch the £395millon mark of Gudmundsson money alone so this inturn could
force the sale off westham united by mr Gudmundsson. One report this morning suggests that an interested party had three seperate bids for the club rejected last week, prior to the collapse of Landsbanki. Elsewhere it has been claimed that at least one bid from a UK-based consortium has been rejected.

Hope In Tevez Appeal

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has offered hope to West Ham's appeal against a tribunal decision ordering compensation to Sheffield United.
CAS is to hold preliminary hearing which wil decide if West Ham United's full case will be heard.
both parties must appoint an arbitrator to represent them at the initial hearing, which they must provide by tomorrow (10th October).West Ham have already appointed an arbitrator and submitted a 12-page legal document to CAS which argues that they haven't had the chance of appeal while sheffield united have appealed and appealed untill finally someone has backed so why cant we appeal this recent ruling.

This decision has since been roundly panned by the vast majority of football commentators, whose concerns about the implications the ruling could have on the English game have been voiced far and wide in recent weeks.

Tristan Get's One More Week

Diego Tristan has been offered another week’s trial at West Ham.
Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke are understood to have offered the 32-year-old another week at Chadwell Heath in order to prove his value to the team.
Whilst there is no doubt about his ablity a shadow has been cast on his fitness.
This is thought to be the only reason why manager zola has not offerd 32-year-old
Tristan a contract at upton park.

We Must Sell To Buy

CEO Scott Duxbury has revealed that West Ham will have to sell before they can buy - just a month after promising new manager Gianfranco Zola new funds with which to strengthen his squad.
Duxbury, speaking in a statement via whufc.com last night told supporters that the current owners are not looking to sell However he backed up an earlier statement from vice chairman Asgeir Fridgeirsson by stating that the current board will not be in a position to invest in the squad this coming January should they remain in control of the club - a statement in direct contrast to one made last month in the wake of Zola's appointment in which he claimed that "it's about building a team around him and that's what we will do."

Since his appointment, Gianfranco Zola has made it quite clear that his first-team squad is too large and needs to be reduced so he can effectively coach the team. Once this has happened and if the manager requires further players, then the club will acquire them.

hammers safe despite bank collapse

West Ham United have dismissed reports that the club may be about to be sold in the wake of the collapse of Landsbanki.

The bank - in which Hammers Chairman Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson had a 40% stake - was taken under the control of the Icelandic government yesterday to prevent it from going under, the latest victim of the worldwide banking crisis. All Landsbanki board members were dismissed as a result.
speculation arose that West Ham United - purchased by Gudmundsson for £85million in 2006 - may be about to be sold. But that suggestion has been dismissed this morning by an unnamed board member, who told the BBC:

"This is not affecting West Ham. One of Mr Gudmundsson's investments has gone bad, but he is still standing and has a lot of other investments."
"Mr Gudmundsson is not looking to sell the club - and he is as committed as ever."

robert green has been fantastic for West Ham during his time at the club.
First, Green dropped a regulation catch after 30 minutes that allowed Kevin Davies to tap the ball into an empty net. It was a nightmare few minutes for the keeper and something he will want to forget as soon as.

The new West Ham boss said that Green is a ‘great goalkeeper’ with ‘all my trust’. it was great that zola done this as robert green has rescued many points for us with his penalty saving skills and efforts to keep us in the preimer league a few years back.

Sheffield United must wait over compensation claim

Sheffield United will have to wait until 2009 at the earliest before learning if they will receive any compensation.

West Ham's new legal representatives, led by reknowned sports lawyer Maurice Watkins successfully argued that having only been appointed in the wake of the arbitration judgment last week they had not been given sufficient time to explore the full intricacies of the case. Their plea for more time was accepted by the under-pressure Lord Griffiths, head of the arbitration panel which found in Sheffield United's favour.

An unnamed Hammers spokesman said tonight:

"We believe that the arbitration panel's ruling needs to be reviewed by a court which can help resolve the outstanding issues in this case. This is not about the issue of damages - the current ruling has major implications for English football.

"West Ham will continue to look at the available options for further action and we believe that Sheffield United should join us in a hearing at the Court of Arbitration [for Sport]."

two goals in quick succesion made sure westham maintained that record as matty Etherington,s cross was thumbled by Schwarzer and there on hand was carlton cole to smash home from 6 yards out. Our Lead was double on 3 mins later when Etherington raced on to a mark noble through ball to make it 2-0 the Hammers were content, at that point, to hold on to their two goal advantage. But Fulham found themselves even further up against it when they lost Andy Johnson for yet another reckless challenge; this time on Lucas Neill.
in the second half murphy scored from the spot as Neill was adjudged to have handeld the ball
murphy sent green the wrong way from the spot from there on the home side belived and pressed for and second goal but the hammers hung on to secure there first away win this season the win lifts us up to fifth place in the table.

It has been a while," Zamora told the club's official website. "To get a full 90 minutes and score a hat-trick against a good team is nice, having got 65 minutes last week. west ham 1 Birmingham 1

It was a bright start by the hosts, with Ashton looking lively and keen to impress watching England manager Fabio Capello, and West Ham took the lead in the seventh minute.
From a long throw in, Cole headed the ball across goal towards the right-hand post, where Ljungberg arrived to stab home from close range.
The Hammers were in full flow now, and a well-worked move found Bowyer with the space to shoot from the edge of the area, but his low effort was just wide.
Birmingham were forced to quickly regroup, or face being over-run.
The Blues were handed a life-line after 16 minutes when referee Mark Clattenburg pointed to the spot following a needless foul by Hammers captain Neill on McFadden.
The Scot got up to take the penalty himself, and made no mistake from 12 yards, beating Robert Green with a low strike into the left corner. the first man to beat him from the spot this season
all in all it was a poor display by the hammers the day got worse when lee bowyer was shown red for a nothing challenge witch curbs says we will appeal against.

curbs says lay off BOA

West Ham beat Liverpool 1-0 at the Boleyn Ground last night with a last-gasp Mark Noble penalty that saw them consolidate their top ten position. But for manager Alan Curbishley, there was a blot on the evening, and that was the club's fans' treatment of Portuguese winger Luis Boa Morte. The former Arsenal, Southampton and Fulham forward was roundly vilified for missing a golden opportunity to put West Ham ahead when the score was still 0-0."It's happened a couple of times," lamented Curbishley."They need to get behind the players. Luis has been out a month and came back at Manchester City and put everything in."Curbishley felt that Boa Morte gave his all against Liverpool, too, as he continues his return from hamstring trouble.
